After I formatted my computer, I tried to install Windows XP Pro but at the setup screen it said that I didn't have SmartDrive. Without SmartDrive it said it would take a long time, and it did. To a point where i just turned it off.

So my question is, how do I enable SmartDrive? What is it?

    Thanks.

    Smartdrive

A disk caching system provided by Microsoft with later versions of DOS and used with Windows 3.1. Disk caching provides faster access to data on a hard disk. Smartdrive allows you to monitor how the cache is used and change the cache size to optimize performance.

Starting with Windows 95, Smartdrive was replaced by a disk caching system called VCACHE.

Nope.. i'm booting off a Win98 boot disk. How do I get it to be enabled? Because that's what the setup screen keeps telling me to do inorder to speed things up.
