Hi again all. I had to buy a BioStar MoBo to replace the dead HP Pavilion TriGem SantaFe VM board and am trying to use the original HP case but am having problems with the front panel connectors lining up. Since the HP case connectors are an all-in-one strip they are not labeled. Anybody that can guide me in the right direction of which HP connector goes to the Power and Reset color coded wires go where, I would greatly appreciate it.

There is no set standard set of colors for any certain device. All I can tell you is to find the light or switch you want to connect and trace the wires to the back of that light or switch. This may involve removing the front of the case so you can see.

Generally, shades of grey, black and white are either negative or ground in Japanese-made devices. Other colors are usually positive.

    Got it!!!

I took the front panel switch out of the case and traced the wires (Power Switch, HDD LED and Power LED) and "Broke" the plastic molding apart between each wire set and plugged them in to the MoBo. And it worked.

    Thanks

In the future, you can try using an exacto knife to wind up with several two wire plugs intact with some plastic. Its detail work, but it will leave you with some acceptable plugs that are still insulated.

    ;)
