Disconnecting from internet after a few moments

    Hi

    Am having problems staying on-line when I connect to internet. It cuts out after a few moments. Someone suggested could be I need my modem updated with new drivers or it could be something to with time out. Hope someone can give me some help and that I can actually manage to log on again to review any replies.

    Hi Joan,

    Try this :

    Right Click on Internet Explorer icon on Desktop > Properties - (or Tools > Internet Options in IE) > Connections > Settings > Advanced (Dial up Settings) and make sure that both Disconnect .... boxes are unticked.

    Hope this helps - doubt it is modem drivers.

    If there is some other reason for being disconnected there are quite a few shareware/freeware programs that you could locate on file sites by using search words like "stay connected "
