    Hi to all:)

I am thinking about rebuilding my pc and wondered if anyone knew some good sites in the US that sell a case ,chip, and mobo all in one price?
I have looked at a few sites but besides asus I am not sure how good the other boards are . Any insight on this matter would be welcome:D

Do a web search for barebones computer. These are available with only the case, mobo (with or without the CPU) and power supply, if that's all you need.

I just went down that road. I went with Tiger Direct (www.tigerdirect.com). I didn't like their barebones systems, but I got a great deal on an MSI K7T266a motherboard and AMD Athlon 1600+ processor. Threw in a case, new memory, and a few odds and ends, and spent less than $400 with shipping.

Took an afternoon to slap it together, transfer my drives and boards from my old system, and start loading software. Great upgrade!

BTW, I assumed that a CPU fan came with, and had to run out ot get one. Word to the wise, make sure you get all the goodies you need on your order!

I have found it better to always order the AMD processor "Retail Boxed ". When you get it this way it comes with an AMD fan and 3 year warranty.

mataura2000-This is a FWIW post cause I don't have that much experience with variety. Only two. Had an off the shelf HP which was ok, but built last fall a machine with a KK266 mainboard from Iwill and bought from http://newegg.com/ . I love this new machine and it's stability. Newegg was fine to deal with and the prices were in the ballpark and they do have barebones systems listed, altho I don't know the combos at the moment. This Iwill has great reviews at Tomshardware and Anandtech. I know of Tigerdirect and things look good but have not dealt with them. One other site you might want to look at is http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv .
    Good luck, Bob
