    Hi
I have my sons computer networked to mine with winxp. He was able to print through my computer, but then he started getting errors printing so I uninstalled and tried again. The printer works on my computer no problem, but when i try and set it up on my sons it wont find it. There is a message by status which reads "documents waiting ". If that is the problem how do I cancel the print if the computer doesnt have a printer attached?
    Any help please?
    Steve

Hopefully if you open the printer on either PC you will see the familiar window with a list of all jobs active or pending. Delete/cancel all of them and then cycle power on the printer and they should be gone.

And your son does have a printer attached. Just attached to a network port rather than a physical port. PC should be fine with either.

As to the printing problems, are you set up to share files as well? If so, is that working?

Are you using TCP/IP, NetBeui, Other, some combination?

Thanks, but I was trying to reinstall the printer on my sons computer, that was the problem. Anyway I had a sudden thought and disabled the zone alarm firewall and the printer installed no problem. I hve now put my sons computer in the trusted zone as well as the internet zone, and hopefully that should fix it.
