    To change the registered name of the computer;

    Open Regedit and navigate to;

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

    and change the value of the key "Registered Owner ".

    or

    Open Control Panel
    Double click on Network.
    Click on the Identification Tab and enter the new Computer Name.

    No such thing as a stupid question. From time to time we all have a brain fart. Asking questions from other users who aren't directly involved in the problem helps give a fresh prospective and that's what this board is all about. Glad I could help jar your grey matter. :D
