Anyone have any incidents of receiving this as an infected email with bugbear? I got one today that seemed a bit different in that it did not display an attachment when viewing the header. That seems out of the ordinary to me. And Norton Email Protect did not catch it inbound from my mail server. It looked like just another spam email. I think it had an attachment when the email was opened up in the attachments area. Just didn't show one when viewing the header. Norton AutoProtect did catch it and it was quarantined. I have never gotten a virus infected email that didn't show an attachment when viewing the header. Any comments or clarifications for me?

If it was html there could have been infected code within the body of the post. But your AV should still have caught it.

Thanks for the reply Newt. I thought Norton should have caught it too. I don't know why, but hmm, I haven't really checked the status of email protect since I posted and should do that. Momento. Ahh, just did and somehow it had been disabled. I re-enabled it and that was the problem I suppose. I still don't think I have seen an infected email without the visible paperclip but now I know different so thank you. I'm glad Norton has several layers of protection. :)

I myself also use MailWasher to pre-screen the mail right on the server. It does not and WILL NOT download mail.

Norton AV also works fine with it. NAV checks any mail that you may bounce. ( if you have NAV set to do same of course )

If any indication of a Virus is noted the mail can be deleted right off of the server.

I had two suspicious ones today.

Just another bit of added protection.
