    Everytime I set a different folders to different types of views it changes them back to the original settings afterwards. Its getting rather annoying.

    Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried running a search before posting this but I couldnt find anything. :/

    If its complicated on how to fix this so it saves the settings can you reply as simple as possible. :D

    Run--> regedt32
    Back up these registry keys (if you like):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell
    NoRoam\BagMRU

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell
    NoRoam\Bags

    Delete them.

    A complement solution is to increase the number of slots used. To do this:

    Under the Registry Key
    [HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\]

    Create a new DWORD Value called "BagMRU Size" and set it to whatever number
    of slots you want (4000 decimal is good). Remember to select the Base "decimal" when changing the value because it's easy to forget and enter it as hexadecimal thus getting
    an actual number that's somewhat bigger.

    Restart Windows and set your folders as you want.

    Just right-click the key and choose to export it. Save it somewhere, like My Documents, in case you want to return it later. Double-clicking the resultant .reg file returns the contents to the registry.

    When you are ready to close out your window, hold the control key down while you click on the red X in the upper right corner. XP should remember how you had it and open it the same way the next time. It affects both views and size, at least for me (XP Pro) HTH
