I have a mess in outlook express 6 and I can not use it. I will like to start all over again. How can I delete all the settings and start a new profile?. How can I re-install it or fix it?.
    thank you

    1. Open OE, then tools, accounts, mail and highlight and remove all mail accounts.

    2. Repair IE(OE tied to it) control panel, add/remove programs, highlight Internet explorer. Click add/remove, then take the repair option.

    3. After reboot, open OE, then you should get prompts about establishing mail account. IF not, go back through, tools, accounts, add. You will need your ISP mail incoming and outgoing mail server info..

caraloca--You did not tell us what the nature of the mess is.
If you think the settings in OE Tools|Accounts|highlight the present account|Properties|various tabs are correct (these govern your ability to access the server for your email), you might want to copy the settings to facilitate easy re-entry after following aleekat's suggestions.

Your problem is with Outlook Express and the old style Windows Messenging(Microsoft Exchange), not to be confused with the XP Messenging.
As you are aware, it does do email, this is where your problem originated. When you installed it, it changed your email (MAPI) settings to itself. It doesn't matter whether or not you installed the Internet Mail, it does this anyway.
You will need to reinstall Outlook Express to get them back.
Any problems with the fax, start a new thread. I use that as my default printer, along with the fax machine at work. Black & white only, but it is a good print.
