I had win98se running and wanted to install FreeBSD too, I changed my partition type to a FreeBSD one and it deleted my DOS partition, so I cant get on Windows. I deleted all of the partitions and have now created just a DOS one to re-install Windows, I did this using FDISK but it now says that the DOS partition can't be formatted from there so I can't install windows again because it gets an error reading c:, any help to fix this problem would be great.

    Thanks for the info

I managed to get it working after 4 hours, so I didnt get to the post in time but thank you for the info Bill. After I had made the partition in FDISK I then had to format it because FDISK wont do this, so I got a program called aefdisk and used the command aefdisk/delall/format/mbr/reboot to get it working. This basically deleted any partitions I didn't need and left one DOS patition, then formated the partition and made it the master boot record. :)
