Hi, I'm not sure I've got the right forum here because I'm using Outlook XP and not Outlook express.

I'm trying to send 'webpage" style emails to my list serve group--I know and understand the whole debate about this but I want to try it anyway.

I've pasted my html code into outlook, formatted it into HTML and only receive the unformatted code.

I've looked at tons of Php stuff which I don't understand.

Can someone help me understand how to do this?

As I understand it, if you have Outlook set up to send email in HTML format, whatever you paste in is EXACTLY what it will send....including any HTML code you paste in, complete with symbols, tags, brackets, etc.

Seems to me the easiest way to accomplish what you want is to think of Outlook as just another wysiwyg web editor, build your "page" in it and let Outlook do the coding, keeping the bare bones version as a template.

However, that said, there's a pretty good treatise on developing HTML email on this site that might help.

Keep in mind that if the recipient has their email program configured to read in plain text format, the coding will go out the....errr.....Window.

This is how you do it in OE. It's been a while since I had Oultlook so I can't say for sure it's the same but I think it's similar. First, on the format tab make sure it'set to rich text (html) . Then, at the bottom left of the window click on the source tab. If the source tab isn't available click the view menu and make sure source edit is checked. After clicking the source tab at the bottom delete the html header thats there by default and paste your own code in. That should do it for you. Note, there will be three tabs at the bottom left. They are edit, source, and preview. When you've completed the email you have to click the edit tab again before it will let you send it. Hope this works for you. Does for me.

Thanks for the input--unfortunately Express does not operate like full Outlook--but you can actually cut and paste the webpage.

What I've decided doing for this procedure is simply use the file/send webpage button on Mozilla...it works fine.

However, what email editors do other people normally use?
