    Hi Riger
    Welcome to the boards!
Have you been into device manager to look for any of those lovely yellow splats?

    Thanks for the fast reply

I have checked the device manager previously and again after reading your post and still nothing, I am still lost, I thought if any os would avoid an issue like this it would be ME, Guess I was wrong.

    Yep. You guessed correctly.

I also went from 98 to ME. Three days later I was right back to 98 SE.

Both hardware AND software that were just fine in 98 SE did not work well in ME. If at all.

    Thanks Everyone Who Replied

I wanted to stop by and personally thank the people who attempted to assist me with this Windows ME Issue, I have since installed Win98Se and everything works just fine. Although I would of rather had Windows Me installed, it's an operating system none the less.

    Thanks, Riger

Gald to read you are back with a good ( better ) OS.

Welcome to a good solid user controlable OS.

Would you please tell me why you would like to have a VERY unstable, Pain in the Butt, Fight the user every step of the way, Do as the OS wants or else, Windows ME ?

ME does nothing any better ( and some things not as well ) than 98 SE.

BTW. You have already inadvertnetly proven my point.

Actually I have been using Me on many systems before with no issues, this is the first one of it's kind, none the less you can bet I will think twice when I reinstall another, for example my son wants me to completely remove ME from his laptop and reinstall it but I am somewhat reserved about the idea as of yet for obvious reasons.

I have a few questions that might help. Was this an upgrade or a clean install? Did you check your bios settings to make sure all was well before you upgraded? I'm only asking because I had the same situation with an upgrade and reformatting the hard drive and doing a clean install went perfect. As far as Me being a bust, it actually blows 98 away, if you take the time to get to know it. It's faster, just as configurable, if not more, and can be made to do EXACTLY what you want. I get it to run very stable. I'm on XP now and that was a little bit of trial and error, but if your machine can handle it, I highly recommend it. Don't give up, you'll like the way your pc runs when you get Me sorted out. One last thing, after the install try disconnecting and then reconnecting your cdrom. It might just recognize it if there's still a problem.
