    Good Day 2 all.
Here is the problem, hope someone can walk me thru fixing this. When i start up comp, the thing stops at the welcome screen. The only way to continue that i found was to ctrl-alt-del and it takes me to the desktop. Everything is good after that. So i look up in help for a fix and on the third or fouth page it says to try selective start up and disable all in the system services.ini and load 1 at a time. I did that and found the one that was making the welcome screen freeze.(event log) But now when i start up before i get to the welcome screen, i get a pop up saying my password will expire in 14 days and do i want to change it now. i click no and everything continues just fine. So i will look for assistance here before i really mess things up.
    -fyi-
I have had xp pro for 4 months now with NO problems and i 'am very happy with it. I use avg anti virus, i'am not on a network, dial up for internet and dont use any logon passwords. I have not changed anything recently and have all xp updates as of 2 weeks ago. If anything else is needed i will be checking thread many times today and will post back quickly as possible.
    many, many, thanks.

Go to Start > Run and type:
    secpol.msc

    Navigate to:
Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options.

    In the right pane, double-click:
Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL

    Check the enabled box. Apply.

In the same section under Account Policies > Password Policy
you can choose how long a password is good. A "0" means it never expires. It's a good idea to have a password. Task Scheduler, at least, doesn't work properly without one.

    Re-enable your startups.
