no windows programs in control panel

    can someone tellme if they have ever had this problem,in control panel there are no windows programs shown,if i reformat,they return for a short while and then there are gone again,can't figure it out,now,my floopy drive a: is shown as a removalble drive,is this related?thanks, please help

    What exactly do you mean by "no Windows programs shown" ?
    No icons at all in Control Panel ? No Control Panel ?
    Only some icons shown ?
