I really am ashamed to ask this question, but I have never had occasion to use it before.

I use Windows 98SE, Internet Explorer 6.0. I am attempting to send a document to a reader group, and I am told to upload to my clipboard, rename and send it. Problem is, I have no idea where to look for my clipboard.

Any help to this senile senior would be most appreciated.

Select the text you wish to upload, then use Ctrl + c-this will put the text you selected on the Clipboard. Then you can open Notepad, Wordpad or your word processor and use Ctrl + v and this will paste the text you selected.
    Hope this helps.

crncrn--You may find it helpful to know that Clipboard is where anything you COPY (and however you copy it) goes. (At least that is where Windows puts it by default, if you have not changed that.) And when you PASTE, the info comes from Clipboard.
Clipboard resides in C:\WINDOWS\CLIPBRD.EXE and you can access it most easily at Start|Programs|Accessories|System Tools|Clipboard Viewer. However, there usually is no purpose in going there. Clipboard just does it job without your having to access it.
Clipboard is very useful, but each time you copy something, you replace the last thing you copied. (And if you reboot, you lose whatever is in Clipboard.) So it is temporary storage.
There are other programs that allow you to retain what you have copied. One is ClipTrak which you get here

but there are many others including one that comes with MS Resource Kit.

    Yankee Clipper

That's a link to another free clipboard manager that I use personally.
No hassles with membership like PC magazine's Clip Trakker.
The author of Yankee Clipper is very philanthropic and would just like to here from you. Yankee Clipper is excellent in doing it's job.
    regards
