SYSTEM = NT 4.0 server w/sp6a. dual 400 mz P2's and 1 meg memory and two 9 gig SCSI drives and one 18 gig drive. Small netwok using TCP/IP and NetBui. Only has about 10 users.

As the Administer, when I try to access User Manager for Domains, I get the following error message.

"Insufficient System resources exist to complete the requested service. Do you want to select another domain to administer? "

There is only one (1) domain on our network (this server computer). If I select NO, I am bounced back to desktop. Selecting YES only repeats above error message.

I get this error message when there is no one on the server and there appears to be nothing going on. System is quite.

If I reboot server, I can access User manager for Domains and all works fine. But within a short time (day or so), I get thge error message.

At first, I thought system required more memory, so I increased from 512 KB to 1 MEG. Didn't change a thing.

I do not know when this started to happen. In addition to the increased memory, I have added three new server software application and upgraded from sp4 to sp6a and replaced a 4 gig SCSI tape drive with a 40 gig IDE tape drive and added another SCSI 9 gig hard drive (hot swappable drive bay).

Software added is TapeWare administrator; Norton Anti-virus, corporate edition and Ducour's XactCopy (backup recovery software).

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's probably caused by Norton CE. If you restart the Norton Services, do you still get the error?

This sounds exactly like your problem. Except that M$ says it was fixed at SP4.

But the Norton software (or other) certainly could be causing the issue to pop up again.
