Need an original Windows XP CD-ROM...

My HP Pavilion came with a set of rescue disks for XP, NOT with a Windows XP CD. I actually need a Windows XP disk to correct some trouble I'm having with a bad printer driver installation.
Anybody out there have any idea how, as an owner of an XP OEM machine, I can get a free Windows XP disk. The printer man won't gimme one and Microsoft and HP won't talk to me about it.

You are out of luck. Even if you had the CD, you couldn't use it on that machine without formatting and reinstalling. Only the OEM will work on it now. And the OEM product keys are not compatible with the full edition keys.

Best bet is to post about your printer problem and see what we can do about that. If it's just a driver, there will be one for download.

In the absence of any way to repair your installation if your CD only restores the computer to its original state, you may want to look at some ghosting software.

Hi! I to am a user of HP computer with windows XP= and as such have NO CD to do anything- However all is not lost - windows XP is installed on your computer so you just need to go to Programs and click on HP tools to get some service-
Now your printer= the fastest way to repair is to UNINSTALL it and re-boot and then windows will give you a notice That new Hardware is found- just proceed and it will find a driver and install it for you- ***** if by chance you may have an incompatability problem then there also is a place to go in windows to obtain repair= good luck/ ace
