My ISP provided news server has not been showing binaries since 19/2/2003.
Can anyone suggest an alternative, free news server ?
    regards

Hi Abraxas, and thanks for the reply.
Excellent Newsreader apps that you posted links to.
However, I must have worded my post badly, as what I am trying to find is a free news server address on the net
    eg news.abc.net.de
    or whatever.
I already have Newsreader apps but no free server access to the groups I want to subscribe to. Also, the free news servers that I find and try, chop out all binary content (eg .zip attachments)
My ISP gives me access to
news.pacific.net.th , which is Singapore based.
Lately some of the groups with binaries have been censored or
(more likely, according to reports I have seen) sabotaged.
    regards

Well, there it is, in plain English: server.

I've been trying out readers lately, and in my spare time, redefining ordinary words.

If I find anything, I'll let you know :) .

    Abraxas, thanks.

It's not an easy search, so do not spend much of your valuable time on it ...

    regards

PS Wherever did you get that moniker - not in my word base.
    Greek ? Roman ?

Variously-known deity of Asia Minor, sometimes Abracaxas, the co-incidence of opposites. The Western Yin/Yang. Possibly the origin of "abracadabra ".

    Also, a Santana album ;) .

This is an extremely reliable free server (it's actually better than my ISP's server). Binaries are not carried.

    HTH.

Just got Anaware (Microplanet) Gravity yesterday. Are you hacking me?

Haven't really looked at it yet. And the Supergravity add-on wouldn't install. Need to look a little more.

It doesn't "install ". Just move the existing .exe to some other folder and then unzip SuperGravity's .exe to the Gravity folder.
