First if you have a computer capable of qualifing for XP then you should have a a computer capable of a larger HD.

More likely you do not know how to install it to access all.

But in answer to you question:

Sure hope you know what this will do! Backup all documents, favorites internet setting etc.

Go here and download a win98 boot disk get win98 se OEM http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

Then go here and d/l delpart http://www.russelltexas.com/delpart.htm

copy delpart to the win98 boot disk

    Then boot from this disk

then run delpart to remove the XP NTFS partition.

Then use FDISK to create new partition or let XP install do it!

Exactly what do you mean when you say the computer won't support the large HD?

If your BIOS doesn't support it, an update may give you that functionality.

If Windows is giving you the problem, then either you are trying to create a FAT32 partition that is larger than 32 gigs (which XP supports, but will not allow you to create with XP's partitioning tool---you need to use the old fdisk for that), or, you have a very large drive (above the 137 gig limit of non-SP1 XP) and a pre-SP1 edition of XP that does not support 48-bit logical block addressing (LBA). Perhaps your BIOS doesn't support large LBA.

In any case, the details will help us figure it out.
