I am using Windows 2000 with Explorer 6 with the SP1 installed. When I open Explorer the button for Outlook Express does not show up on the standard buttons bar. Does anyone known how I can get it back? Also if I click on a .ELM file that I saved on my drive the open with box comes up and Outlook Express is not listed in it. I can use Outlook Express if I click on the icon in the quick launch tool bar.

You mean an EML file and the Open With window?
    Outlook Express = MSIMN.exe

You mean Internet Explorer? Big difference there between that and Windows Explorer.
Right click on the Toolbar and select Customize, then add the icon for Mail, will not say Outlook Express.

Thanks for the reply. When I opened Explorer 6 and went to customize and opened it there was no mail icon there to add to the button bar.

When you open Customize there are two sections to the window, "Available Toolbar Buttons" and "Current Toolbar Buttons ". Are you saying that the Mail button appears in neither of these lists?

That's right the mail button is not showing on either section.

    Update:
I found the problem. I open Internet Explorer 6, went to tools, Internet Options, Programs tab. Under Internet programs E-mail was blank and so was Newsgroups. Picked Outlook Express from the drop down menu for both hit Apply then OK. Back at Internet Explorer 6 I right clicked on the button bar, clicked on customize, now the mail icon was there so I moved the mail icon over from the available buttons to the current buttons.

Thanks for posting back with your solution. I have to admit I was at a loss, I had never seen or heard of that problem before.
