Do a search for kazaalite or kazaalite++ on kazaa, of course.

Some computers have trouble changing the default folder. Reboot, let kazaa do a search of your computer, and uncheck as needed. On mine it took half an hour, and it checked every folder in C!! After I unchecked them all and checked the music folder everything worked okay.

Norton should catch any virus file when you try to open it. It has for me.

Thanks for the info terryr. I've tried winmx paddyslammer, it doesn't work to good on this computer. Don't know why. I have enough of everything. Speed/Memory/hard drive space. When I installed it, it said I was behind a firewall. Clueless on that. Because of that I wasn't getting any downloads and they ask for a port??? I think that's what it's called anyway way over my head.:D

musbethamusac , if you are using winxp then you need to turn of the firewall, then re install winmx, believe me it is very good.

to turn off, start , control panel, internet options, connections, settings, properties, advanced and untick the box. Then when you re install winmx it will work

You may want to try WinMX for music downloads. It's spyware and adware free. You get lots of hits on your searches and you can ping the results to find a good connection. But keep that AV running.

thank you both for the info....this may sound like a stupid question, but how do I find out if indeed I'm behind a firewall? I have win xp. I know when I installed it said I was, but how do I check that out?

    music downloading

I am new at all this computer stuff.I have only had a PC for about 2 months now.
My brother usually helps me with any problems that I have & he installed iMesh on my PC right after I got it & I had lots of problems with pop-ups.

I also had a real bad problem after about a month or so after hooking up my PC.
After being on the net for 5 or so minutes,my little mouse arrow would turn into an hour glass & kind of lock-up.I couldn't do anything but close out.

I never did find out what was wrong, but I ran my 5 "restore" disks on it & restored back to new & started over again & have not had any more problems.

By the way,I did not install iMesh back again & I haven't had any pop-ups,except for the ones I have on a couple of sights that I may visit, but that is very seldom.

Does iMesh have any spyware in it.I downloaded & used about 4 or 5 differant pop-up blockers/killers before I could get all the pop-ups to stop.

I have read somewhere that some "free" pop-up blocker programs may contain GAIN or spyware, but I'm not familiar with all of this.

I would like very much to download some music & burn a couple of CDs,but I am scared to use iMesh again, because of all of the pop-ups.I have the pop-ups down to a minimum now W/O having to use any pop-up blockers & would like to keep it that way.

Is there any music places such as iMesh that I can safely use W/O worrying about pop-ups.

I am sorry that this is such a long post, but I am new at all this & didn't know of any other way to explain my problem.
I am not familiar with any abbreviations concerning PCs nor do I know the PC language yet,but I have some books & I am learning,so please bare with me.

Thanks in advance for any help & thanks for any advice or suggestions. This is a great sight.
    ;)

For a start your on another thread.
    I found this for you .. . . . . iMesh is SpyWare Clean

iMesh is installed with the Cydoor banner and popup engine. The Cydoor ad engine is NOT a SpyWare software. Neither iMesh or Cydoor tracks the iMesh users in any way or collects any data about them.

We’ve put a lot of effort in becoming "SpyWare Clean" by talking to all the main SpyWare gurus and following their advices about telling our users ahead about the Cydoor ad engine, and making sure we and Cydoor only do ad delivery activities.

It is a necessity for us to sell advertising space in the form of banners and popups on our iMesh client. The banners and popups provide us with a revenue stream that enables us to provide you with a free and easy-to-use iMesh software.
