Active desktop just disappearred

Hello! Everything just disappearred from my desktop. Yesterday everything was working just fine, but this morning when I opened my computer, only the background picture came in to the screen. This has happened several times, and I I havent been able to solve this problem. So I have been forced to reinstall the windows over and over again. I have been able to use my computer thru the task manager during this problem. I hope that there is someone smarter (and I bet there is) than me who can give me some clues. Thanks allready!!!!!

 

Well, in task manager go to File->New Task and type 'explorer' and hit enter. This may bring up your desktop, or give you an error message. Any error message is better than no information at all. Also, is there any program that you installed recently?
