    Open Windows Explorer, click on the magnifying glass. The Search Companion window will open.

    On the left side of the screen click on Change Preferences. Another menu entitled "How do you want to use Search Companion? will open. Click on "Change file and folders search behavior ".

    Another menu entitled "Choose the default files and folders search behavior" will open, select Standard. Click OK and your preference should be set.

    The following link explains the use of Search Companion in more detail;
