    Hello all you helpful people!

I recently acquired Symantec's ACT! 6.0 but it is not installable unless I am running (minimum) IE 5.5.

As the company I will be doing telephone work for uses ACT! as it's database manager, I'm forced to install the IE6 as I can't find any workarounds which would allow me to retain Internet Destroyer under version 5.0. and have ACT! operable.

I've been using IE5.0 for a long time (it seems) and it really works just fine for me, but I seem to remember a complicated rigamarole that I had to go thru when installing that. (My short-term memory is not what it used to... what was I saying? Oh Yeah...)

Anyway, from your collective experiences, what should I look for / back up / not do / fear / etc when doing this install / upgrade?

I do not presently use Outlook as my mail client and would prefer that it not be made the default client, if anyone has a tip on that.

    W98SE / P-III 600mhz / 512m ram / IE 5.0 / ADSL / 24-7

I dont think you'l have any problems --ive overheard outlook can lose alot of information when upgrading though but since you dont use--

    Stay tuned for more opinions>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<
    ADSL but who from ?

If I remember correctly when updating to ie 6, at first, java is disabled --cookies to , but thats simply--you'l get when visiting some sites messages saying cookies must be alowed and or
java must be enabled to view this site correctly-- so
    after updating of cource
go control panel - internet options --privacy tab and set to middle
there a description there also and more in help also.
on the security tab --by the way when uping it will try to save the previous settings except a few
highlight the general er blue and green globe - custom level
all signed active scripting should be enabled
microsoft vm should be medium or low
and near the bottom all scripting should be enabled.

Like I said before stay tuned -- for more opinions

I should have scripting enabled? Why so?

And the ADSL is from Verizon (used to be Telocity/Directvinternet, but they're outta biz).
