I have a network with a printer I've installed on a W95 box; it works from there. I want to be able to use it from an XP home ed box on the network.

The problem I seem to be having is that the driver for my Epson stylus color 600 is not on my XP OS and the closest driver on the installation CD is for WINNT40. When I try installing that driver I get a msg from XP that the driver didn't pass logo testing and I'll be shamed and disgraced forever and a day if I use it.

So, what's the procedure from here?

    Hi Robin,

I can't get to the link you provided, the message I get says the session has expired.

Last night I d/l'd the XP/2000 driver for the epson stylus color 680 from epson's site... it was the closest thing a search of their site yielded. But again when attempting to install on the XP box it told me there was no signature on the driver so under threat of great injury I stopped the install.

    Marty,

The Epson site said you can use the drivers that come with XP. Just do add printer and select the driver from the list.

I don't know if the 680 driver will work, but when you get to the screen that says the driver is not signed, just tell it to install anyhow.
I have done it and no one has come to the door to arrest me....yet.;)

Still can't do it. I'm gonna relax and live with printing from the the other boxes in my network for now. Don't print much anyway... how's that for rationalizing? Pretty good, huh?

Anyway you never know when they're going to knock on the door for installing an unsigned driver. :) I still have the tags on my mattress from years ago -- y'know, the ones that say do not remove under penalty of law?

    Nice talking to you.
