    In I.E 6 and oters there is always a folder called "links" in the favorites, I delete this as I do not use it ( empty) but it comes back.
    How if I can do I get rid once and for all.

    You can't. But you can hide it. Click on view, toolbars, uncheck links.

    Edit: If you mean, when you click on favorites, and it shows. Try right clicking on it, properties, select hidden..

    Paddyslammer.

    Try this registry tweak it worked for me. I use Win XP with IE6;

    Run Regedit

    Navigate to; HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

    On the right side of the screen look for the LinksFolderName key.

    If it exists double click it and set the String Value to a blank string by deleting all of the text.

    If the key does not exist create it and leave the String Value blank.

    Click OK and close Regedit.

    Then open Internet Explorer and manually delete the Links folder from Favorites Menu, or delete it from the Favorites Folder using Windows Explorer.

    Reboot your system, the Links folder should not be recreated.

    Note: As always prior to making any registry changes back up the registry or effected keys.

    There is an easier way than going into the registry, if that makes you nervous. Open Windows Explorer and go to this folder.
    C:\Windows\Favorites\Links
    Right click on the Links folder, look for a checkbox with Hidden next to it. Check it, hit Apply, then OK. Close all windows of IE then reopen IE. It should no longer be visible.
