Is there a way to have a folder/filemanager view of a local directory displayed as an active desktop item? Prefferably I would be able to set it to "detail" view of the files in the directory.

The point is that I want constant access to the folder without having to open a folder window every time I boot. Also it will be easier for me to locate the window if it is always in the same spot on my desktop.

Thanks for any help I can get...
