My internet provider, www.abcs.com, indicates that it has over 34,000 available newsgroups free. In Internet Explorer I am supposed to go Tools/mail and news/ and then go to where I put in news.abcs.com. But I can't find where to type it in. Can anyone help me? Thank you very much.

Newsgroups are actually going to come through your email program. If you use Outlook Express as your default, click on tools, accounts, news, add, news then follow the wizard. If you use another email program, take alook in their help program for newsgroups.

To aleekat: Thank you for your message. I use Eudora as my default email program. Eudora does not have a program for newsgroups. Does that mean I cannot use my Internet Provider's newsgroups? Thank you.

From what I can find on the net, it looks like Eudora doesnt support newsgroups. Maybe someone else has a way it will work. If you have Outlook express, you can configure it to get your news and still leave Eudora as your default.

    You're right - Eudora don't do NG's!

You could use Outlook Express but , IMO, it's a rather poor newsreader and either FreeAgent or Gravity (and I prefer the latter) would be a much better alternative (both are free).

Download whichever program appeals and then double-click on the downloaded file to begin installation. The program will automatically launch once installed and you'll then be prompted to input your server details, etc.

IMO, you'd probably find Gravity a tad easier to use than FreeAgent.

BTW, a word of caution: NEVER use your actual email address when posting to Usenet or you'll be deluged with spam!
