    Good Day,
    I used this tip (from this site) for Windows XP Home;

    Add "Copy to Folder" and "Move to Folder" to Explorer Context Menu, found here, http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/tune-22.html

    and successfully added option to right click menu.
    Problem: The Copy/Move option window opens when I click unrelated items such as faxes or start menu program items. I then have to close/Cancel the Copy/Move windows 2 times before the desired reaction occurs,ie, my fax opens or my program menu item opens to be explored. I ensured that registry entry was accurate. Uninstall/reinstall did not fix...what do I do?

    Respectfully,
    Jasper

    This is probably not due to anything you did wrong. I installed these same options using a VBscript, but the reg keys changes are the same ones in your link.

    Though I have the same problem as you do, it seems not so frequently. It is annoying sometimes. The only suggestion I have is to remove the customization and use the Copy To and Move To buttons in the Explorer panel. (Customize to show the buttons if they are not there.) It is not so convenient, but doesn't have that problem.

    There are many alternative shell extension/enhancement programs that accomplish the same thing, but the least intrusive I've found is FileTargets:
    http://www.moonsoftware.com/freeware.asp

    You can configure it to use your favorite folders and set it to default copy or move. The Shift key allows you to switch from the default to the other. You can add as many folders to the menu as you want and they stay there! (Right-click in the config box.)

    Good Day Sir,

    Thankyou for your timely reply. It's good to know that I am not the only one with this poblem. I deleted the registry entries and used your recommended freeware program, FileTargets, ...problem solved.

    Thankyou,
    Jasper

    Glad you like it.

    This Copy/Move context option is recommended glibly all over the internet with no mention of the resultant problems. I had some programs that would not run properly after using it---the dialog to copy or move kept popping up and wouldn't allow me to proceed.

    I recommended this to friends and then had to undo the damage I did :( .
