    hello all.

My problem is this. I defragmented my hard drive even though it said that I needed 15% free space and I only had 11%. Now when I go to my desk top I no longer have IE or its' desktop icon. Tried to restore to an earlier time and it wont do it. any ideas?

Open IE and click on tools-internet options-advanced. In the "browsing" section put a check mark by the line that says show Internet Explorer on the desktop. If it's already checked, uncheck it, reboot and then go back recheck the line again.

I've tried what u said but I didn't have the "show icon on desktop" button. As I think about it I am able to use my service providers browser and can do what I want. I did upgrade to a "better" version of IE or so I thought. Let me know if I need to give more info. and what type. :)

I noticed you're running two OS's. Which one is the problem one?

To restore IE Desktop icon in XP open Add/Remove Programs, click on Add/Remove Windows Components, when the Components Window opens place a check-mark next to Internet Explorer.
