If you have two hard drives, one with Win 98 installed on it and the other with Windows XP installed on it, how do you tell the computer which OS to boot to?

The new PC came with Win XP Home (OEM)
The Win98 Hard drive is out of my previous PC.

I would like this new PC to recognize both hard drives and to boot into which ever one I choose.

Please respond in simple (laymans) terms.

    Thank you

Two or 3 ways to do it.
Use your BIOS setup to determine which drive to boot to.
Get a 3rd party boot loader such as XOSL.
Edit the boot.ini file in XP to see the Win98 drive.

Of the 3 suggestions by "reboot ", I believe only the second one is likely to work.

Have a look at this site:

    (without 3rd party software)

All 3 will work. I have machines here to prove it.
Having 98 on a second separate drive, and not just another partition, makes it even easier to add #2 or #3.
If booting to C which is XP, and 98 is on the IDE 0 as slave, you would add this to boot.ini:
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS=Windows 98
