E-mail problem

Several pierce of e-mail have arrived from one source. They have attachments which I am unable to open. I receive a message that "OE has removed the ability to open" these unsafe attachments.
What is "OE" and how do I determine if these truly are unsafe?

OE is outlook Express. It's set itself to delete any potentially harmful attachments for you. So that you can choose for yourself, Open outlook Express.......... go to tools........then options...then your security tab. Take the tick out of, " Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened..........." Click apply...then ok.

A good anitvirus program and kept up to date!!!
