Is there a XP Home compatible spell checker that will check IE, Notpad, and WordPad?

I'm testing WordPadPlus, same as XP Home's WordPad, but with a built-in spellchecker—nice but very slow loading, and, it won't check message board posts or other website communications in IE.

With my Mac I have a spellchecker that sits on my desktop and I can select any text in any app and it checks it. I'd like to find something for my PC that does the same, ideally free.

I lost my Word97 app during the XP upgrade. I find I'm quite happy with a WordPad type text editor.

    Thanks,

    Kerry

    Hi Brett:

It looks perfect. I'm wondering if it will work with XP Home?

Ah ... hmmm ... yes ... well ... by the time a hunted out the link, I had forgotten that you had written that you were using XP.

I don't think it will work. I'm sorry!

    Hi Jim:

No, that site pertains to spell checking for OE. I have XP Home's OE6 and it has its own spellcheck.

I'm looking for a free spell check utility that ideally would spell check WordPad, Notepad, and forms and message boards in conjunction with IE.

I found one named APSC but it's a bit clunky, with copy paste manuevers. Still looking.

    Thanks,

    Kerry

    How about Word Web?

It doesn't do it "automatically" but you can check your spelling.

    Hi Indutch:

It appears to be a dictionary and thesaurus, not a spell checker.

    Thanks though.
