Does anyone know of any way to change the e-mail server info in Netscape 6.2.1?

When I open Mail and Newsgroup\Account Steeings\Server Settings, the blocks for Server name and User name are greyed out and can't be accessed.

Can the server name be changed without having to delete the account and open a new one?:)

My server settings are greyed out too, but I have not selected Netscape 6.2.1 as my Default Mail program. Have you selected it as your Default Mail Program?

    EDIT

O.K. this is from the Netscape 6.2.1 Mail Help:
Changing the Settings for an Account

    -------
To view or change information for an existing mail or newsgroup account, begin from the Mail Window:

    1. Open the Edit menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings. You see the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings dialog box.

    2. Click the account name in the left-hand side of the Account Settings dialog box. You see information about the account, such as your email address and signature file, in the right side of the dialog box.

    3. Click the Server Settings category (beneath the name of you account). You see the Server Settings section, where you can edit mail or newsgroup server settings. The settings available depend on the type of server (IMAP, POP3, or newsgroup server).

Important: If you need to change server type, server name, or user name, you must first remove the existing account. Next, you must quit Netscape and restart it. You can then reopen the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings dialog box and recreate the account with the new settings.
    ------

The answer to your question... No, as described in the "Important" paragraph above.

Yes I have Ramona, I'm in the process of setting up NOD32 (instead of Norton AV) as my anti-virus program and I had to delete my old account and set up a new one so that I could enter 127.0.0.1 as the server address instead of my ISP server address.

Luckily if you save the contents of the Mail folder in a separate location, it's easy to recover any lost data or e-mails from the old account.

BTW I really like NOD32... I just did a full scan of 40 g of HD space and it only took 112 sec. plus it only uses about 4 meg of memory with full protection in XP... not a resource hog like Norton.:)
