If you haven't already discovered the new The Netscape Unofficial FAQ Site, you might want to update your Bookmarks. It is still a work in progress, but looks very promising.

    Hi Antony,

uFAQ.org is now a redirect page. I've been checking a few of my NS Bookmarks this a.m., and find that all but one that I checked are still available.

I'll post back when I have more information!

    hi ramona

i know you are a "netscape person ", so you might appreciate this...

the other day i thought my email had really gone south on me. i use netscape messenger (within ns4.76), and i just could not open the inbox to retrieve new mail. i tried the suggestion found in uFAQs, to no avail. it was driving me nuts.

then i thought about what had changed on my system since things had last worked properly. that did it. i had had a huge pop up attack (i use NoAds and it really isn't such a hot ad blocker, i have to change), wherein i clicked on a link and i was being literally bombarded with pop ups.

since i couldn't effectively close some of them, i was instead adding them directly to the NoAds target window to shut them. somehow, quite inadvertently, i managed to add the email client inbox to the NoAds target database, and consequently, every time i then tried to open the inbox to retreive my mail, NoAds would prevent it from opening!

once i figured out what i had done, it was a simple matter of removing the inbox from the NoAds targets.

i tell you, that was a strange one!

    :)
