In Windows 2000, when I set up the display properties (background, active window colours etc) they are lost after rebooting. How can I save them as the default?

Do you log into a domain, maybe there is a policy running with the "Do not save user changes on logout "

Also, if you shut down abnormally (push the power button, not letting the OS shutdown all the way, etc...) changes to your profile will not be saved.
