    Hi Folks

No problems, everything is humming FINE. But I can not find what this is.... bwgo00006442.exe. It's running in "processes" under my user name, no apps. open. I've tried every wild card lookup via HDD, Blackviper, you name it, can't find what it's purpose. On google, found a lot of foreign sites.. found one english site. Talked about "Backweb" (F-Secure AV)... had to do with auto updates per AV. Recheck all my Norton, BigFix, Cnet, Windows update, could not find the exe file in there folders. About all I know, it's not a system program. Any idea's??

moderators... Move this post where appropriate. Sorry if not correct forum.

Did you have a look on the startup tab in msconfig? There might be something there to give you a clue as to what "bwgo" is...and msconfig shows you the folder where it's located.

Almost has to be BackWeb files. bwgo*.exe where * is a number. Are you set to show hidden and system files when you search?

And Miz's suggestion of seeing what is running at startup is good. If nothing obvious there, try searching your registry for backweb

    Thanks guys

You were both right. Have (3) instances in msconfig/startup.
    Startup item (2x)___________________
    Backweb-8876480
    Command (2x)_____________________
    C:\Program files\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\backweb-8876480.exe
    Location(s)________________________
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunHKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
All of the above to get the mouse (updates)?? see below
    Startup item_______________________
    LogiTech Desktop Messenger
    Command_________________________
    C:\PROGR~1\DESKTO~1\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe/start
    Location__________________________
    Common Startup

The mouse I'm running is a LogiTech Cordless Trackman Wheel. Mystery solved, THANKS

Not really sure it is explained. Are you running F-Secure AV?

Whatever this thing is, it's BackWeb and should be killed.

Gosh Guys.... Now adding Abraxas to the list... your "RIGHT" again. I did a google "8876480" search, got a boat load of hits. Although it appears to be linked to auto-updates for a number of OEM's (for me, Logi-Tech mouse) they ALL agreed it's a resource hog.... some stability concerns. So now I'll read some more and choose a fitting burial. For the 3rd time, Thanks guys.
