OK I have a subseven virus on my other computer, it is ME. I have tried to FDISK it but it says it is locked. So I go to unlock it but it gives me a failure msg. I know that there isn't a way to get out of windows. I have tried to use a boot disk to try to get into dos. I have tried for a week to clean this harddrive and I can't figure it out. I have cleaned this copmputer to figure out how to do it cuz this is my first time. This is Win98. I am a fast learner so it was quite easy to do. I haven't been able to get to "pure" dos in ME. can you help cuz I really don't want to spend $50-75 do get it cleaned when I could do it myself. If you guys could help me out it would be much appreciated.

    Thank You,
    Larry

    create a basic boot disk.
    format a: /s
copy format.com and fdisk.exe on to it

    boot off your floppy disk.
not sure if you need to do this...
    Rebuild you master boot record
    fdisk /mbr
Partition your drive as to how you want it.
    fdisk
Reboot keep floppy in drive and format your drive.

    Reinstall OS.

    Cheers
