    Hello.

Just so people don't ask what type of system....
    PIII - 800, 512 MB Ram, WINME.

My fiance, told me a couple days ago that Norton came up saying I had the YAHA virus, and it was removed.....

Now when I boot up, it detects the keyboard, mouse, show's USB Enabled... then I get the message "Press F1 To Resume ". After I press F1, I get into WINME fine...

    What I have done:
Ran Norton from Windows - Clean
Ran Norton from DOS - Clean
Downloaded and ran the YAHAFix from Symantec - Clean
    Reset BIOS to defaults
    Upgraded BIOS
Disabled USB - which lead to the system hanging after the mouse detection.
booted to DOS, and ran sys c:
Booted to DOS and ran Scanreg /fix - corrented errors
Tried running Windows via Clean Boot to trouble shoot...
I have checked my device manager and there are no conflicts.

I'm still receiving the error... I'm now out of ideas.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    Thanks in advance

Just guessing here....so bear with me.
Turn the computer on and immediately begin pressing the F8 key on the keyboard, once every second repeatedly. Do this until the Windows Startup Menu appears. If you get a keyboard error, press F1 to resume and then continue pressing the F8 key once every second. Select Safe Mode from the Windows Startup Menu, then press the Enter key on the keyboard.

Windows will then boot into Safe Mode.

Do another virus scan. Preferrably an online one from Housecall .

Have you purged your restore folder?

    Hello...

I tried the virus scan via housecall, and it didn't find anything either. Tried downloading the trial version as per the web site, and it didn't find anything either.

ya, my restore info is gone, as part of the YAHAfix is disabling the restore function... which in turn leads to all restore info being purged.....

    Any other thoughts?

D/L the below use copy/paste to post the report it puts in wordpad back to us.

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/startuplist.zip
StartupList does nothing but grab all Autoload (startups) and puts them
In a Wordpad file so that you can then copy it and paste it back to us in a
message so that we can advise on a problem here.

Get this also you are probably going to need it!

    Startup control panel
    http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
This gives simple and full control of what starts at boot up. After install there will be a Startup icon in control panel.

    Waiting for startuplist report!
