Windows update: Scan for updates doesn't work

    Ok....heres my situation...i got to the Windows Update site, i click on Scan for updates...nothing happens...at all...i've deleted temp files, run Disk Cleanup..i'm lost.... any suggestions???

    well...i tried the 2nd site that charlesvar suggested(the download one)..and it worked, but i have to download every update and install them manually, this is fine for now but eventually i'd like it to do it automatically (call me lazy), so....if anyone has any other suggestions could they please post them...thanks.

    I use the "manual" method, I prefer it to the download/update for a number of reasons:

    If something happens to my connection, then no big deal, start again, something you may not be able to do in the middle of the auto method.

    I keep the updates in a folder in case of need. Lets say, had to go back to a System Restore point prior to MS update. The auto method may not let you update again.

    Too many things can go wrong and I've read too many posts from people frustrated with Windows Update because something goes wrong and they can't do it again.
