    Have you tried doing a system restore to a point prior to having changed the resolution to see if that would fix the fuzziness you are seeing.

    Also if you have a flat screen monitor, or are using a laptop, you should run Clear Type to see if this helps. You can read about what clear type is and how to turn it on at the following link;

    Clear Type

    To address your folder views always changing, for some reason XP occasionally gets confused as to what you set. To fix this you will need to edit the registry;

    Open Regedit

    Navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU and delete the key.

    Then navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bag and delete the key.

    Close regedit and reboot. When you reboot these keys will be recreated. Now when you set your folder settings they should stay the way you set them.

    HTH

    hi, rod, thanks for the reply. the icon thing was something i downloaded from windows update. i used system restore and it worked. as far as the folder view when i get to the key bag mru do i just click on it and then delete it from the leftside window. i dont expand it or delete anything from the right side window do i. i'm not to familar with working with registry. but this promblem is so annoying i am willing to try anything.

    Nope. Just locate the key on the left, highlight it, and delete.

    There are times when you only want to get rid of specific values (on the right) but in this case, you want the whole thing gone.

    As a precaution, make sure you have system restore turned on and a restore point from right before you do the deed. Then if something goes wrong (shouldn't but hey, these are computers :D ) you can easily get back to where you are now.
