Please help me this so annoying. WinXP generally runs stable on my system w/3 hdds, 2 cd drives, 512 ram, athlon 1ghz.

However in order for it to run stable I must get it past boot up. Once I do, I'm fine and I can even restart without problems. BUT: When I boot up for the first time in the morning while the system is "cold" i have this error shortly after windows loads:

    ERROR IN SYMEVENT.SYS
PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA

It takes me two or three reboots before I can get going.

    Please, any suggestions?!

    Another Norton product :( .

This is probably due to Crash-Guard. The best way to prevent crashes is not to use Crash-Guard. If you updated from v4.0 to v4.1 through LiveUpdate, you will get this error. Older versions also have this bug.

There is a patch at the Symantec site (Sevinst.exe):

i don't think that's it cause i'm using norton 2003 and i've never seen it make any reference to even having 'crash guard' in that install.
