    Halp!!!!!

I've got IE version 5.0, Windows 98 second edition and, until today had msn.com as my home page. In the past when I would type in a word in the "search the web" box, it would take me to the page that would show the websites pertaining to the word(s) typed in the box. Suddenly, it started taking me to "search.xrenoder.com/" I've deleted temporary internet files and deleted cookies using the internet properties window. I've restored everything to the default settings but nothing has helped. Any suggestions?

    Hi mariancat
Welcome to the boards. You might want to start by downloading and running Ad-aware to rid yourself of any spyware you may have picked up.

    Daizy,

I downloaded Ad-aware and it picked up 139 items. YIKES!!!!! What do I do now?
A little more info..........I set my home page to yahoo and typed in msn.com in the search box. It took me to msn's home page. When I clicked on the search tab, it took me right back to that nasty search.xrenoder.com/ site! I'm new to this stuff so I appreciate your help.

Brett's got you on the right track, but as for what to do with what ad-aware found...let it clean them out.
