I am having a problem with tables creating page breaks in strange places. I create a table then add rows as I need them. When the table hits the bottom of the page, it breaks the table only a few lines from the the top of the first page, leaving most of that page blank and the second page full of the rest of the table.

I have looked at page and section break settings but can't seem to find a solution to this. Am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks

I thought I'd seen every way Word could ***** up, but I've never seen this one. I have no clue why it's doing that, but try this and see what happens: when the table reaches the bottom of the page, insert a page break instead of tabbing to make it break onto the next page. I have no idea if that will work but who knows? Of course, if it does work you'll have to re-insert your column headings on the second page. Let us know what happens.

Many Thanks for your reply. I found another solution before you posted so I haven't tried yours yet.

I selected the whole table, converted to text, then converted back again and it seemed to solve the problem.

I have no idea what was causing it.

    Thanks again.

Glad you solved the problem. It never ceases to amaze me at the weird things Word does sometimes.
