need help with win 95 install

This a 486dx 33 with 33M ram, a Diamond stealth video card, new 2G HD. I formated the hd and go to install 95 and everything goes in great, when it gets to the setting up hard ware I get fatal execption 0028 at C002B7909 in VXD VCACHE(01) 0000007D, which locks upp the machine. I reboot using the on off button it goes to scan disk and the back to setup hardware, it then asks me to insert disk, click ok. Then get error message Regsvr 32 fatal exection at 0028:C002BCE7 in VXD VACACHE (01)00000065B and the when I hit press any key to continue the thing crashes. I 've tried everuthing I can think of and still get the same resaults.

You need to give the EXACT error message to include the TYPE of fatal exception (0D? 0E?) and more details, for example, was the machine running OK with the same installed memory and video card before you installed the new hard drive?

You may have better luck posting this in the hardware forum if you don't get any more replies here ... I know very little about hardware issues.

Like Alice mentions, more info might be necessary to fix this problem. A quick search on google.com came up with this:

Well that was the exact error message unfotuntely, it dosn't tell me much either tried the three days and finally decided that it is not going to load and went and loaded 3.1, I thicnke after the last week that it is a hardware problem, mainly IDE controller conflicts. There are two, one is a added board for the cd and the one on the motherboard runs the HD. Yes everything worked great before I changed the HD (3.1). I tried slaveing the cd to the HD but then the cd won't work. When I try running the HD on the contorler board, it locks the HD up. So went back to 3.1 and added calmira but not having much luck with it either, likes to crash an lock up the HD. The biggest proble with 3.1 is finding 16 software, any suggestions? Tanks

Sorry that was the problem and there was no solution for you. The only place that I can think of would be eBay. You could try a search on google.com also. Just a thought, but you could probably pick up a cheap used system on eBay also. I bought my 2153 there for about $100 not too long ago.
