Please forgive if this is not the right place to post these questions.
Having just gotten into the digital video camera bit, I want to know if anyone has used the updated version of WindowsXP movie maker 2 (the updated version).
I am not looking to be another Stephen Spielberg, I just want something for simple editing & to be able to transfer my videos onto a CD.
I have looked into Pinnacle Studio Dv 8 which comes in a package including the card & cable, but I am so surprised at how much hard drive is used for editing just 20 minutes. Do people who are doing this, usually have a second hard drive, or just how does all this work. Sorry for being so completely in the dark, but being a novice to all this, it is very confusing & I'm not sure what my best options are.
Would appreciate any feedback on this confusing problem or help in deciding what I should be looking at.
    Thanks to all,
    Lucy:confused:

Something like Pinnacle would be a good choice for Movie editing, although there are many other software packages that will do the same job. If you are not looking for professional facilities, my advice would be to stick with the free stuff that came with your camera.

In general, movie editing is CPU intensive and can take up many Gb's of HDD storage. If you don't have much space, the best thing to do would be to buy a CD writer to store the files on CD.

Professional movie editing people also tend to use specialist-built (expensive) machinary.

    To Grundy:
Appreciate the reply back. The more I find out about all this info regarding movie editing, the more I fear my even attempting it.
So for now I will take your advice & go with the program that came with my camera.
    Thanks again,
