Hi, This is my first time here, I hope I am doing this right. My problem is this: I went to a gamesite, it gave me a pop up that said I needed to install Macramedia Flash player, I clicked ok, then I got this error message: iexplore has caused an error in CABINET.DLL. iexplore will now close. It will not allow me to install the flash. Hope someone can help, Thanks so much, Cadee

Welcome to the boards. the CABINET.DLL file is one that Windows (and maybe IE) uses to open *.CAB compressed files. What may be happening when you try to d/l Macromedia is that the CABINET.DLL file cannot be found or is corrupt. It is located in the C:\Windows\System directory.

    A couple of questions:

    What OS are you running?
    What version of IE?

For starters look in the Windows\System directory for the CABINET.DLL file. If it's not there that could be the problem. If it is still there, it may be corrupt and may have to be replaced.

    Post back your findings.

Click on Start>Programs>Window Explorer. Then scroll the left side pane down till you find the "Windows" directory, click on the + next to Windows, scroll down to "System" and click on System. In the right pane scroll across until you find the CABINET.DLL file. It should be alphabetical order if it is there.
