    In win 98 we were able to remove the documents folder from the program start up how is this achived in win 2000? thanks.

    If you want to completely remove it from the start menu then put a DWORD value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer that is called NoRecentDocsMenu and assign value of 1.

    Also there is a registry entry that will just clear the documents on log off. That way its still there but clears everytime you log off for security. I don' remember what the registry entry is but I'm sure if you do a google or yahoo search you'll find it.

    Do all verisons of win 2000 have this , as I am unable to find this line (NoRecentDocsMenu) or should I just add it ?

    You wont see the key NoRecentDocsMenu, its not automatically there by default, you have to add it.
