    I have 2 questions...

    1) Is there a way to make change the font size in Word 97 from 10 to 12 and make it the default size. I know how to change it, but it keeps reverting to 10 everytime I re-open Word.

    2) How do you delete folders in OE? (The actual "folder ") I want to change what they're used for but all I can do is create new ones...

    1) Probably create a template for new docs. Just look in help for templates.

    2) Nope. You're stuck with the default ones.

First thing that needs to be said….
You cannot rename, move, or delete the Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Draft, or Deleted Items folders. These folders are special folders that cannot be renamed, moved, or deleted.

You may be able to hide these and use your created named folders and set up "Special Rules" for managing your mail in conjunction with these.

You may need to do some homework on setting up special "rules" for your mail behavior that will control what goes where. Have you glanced at your help file from within OE?

It’s been a while since I’ve surfed for user "Beginner" friendly OE site, but give me a little a time and I’ll see if I can find one.

    Genral q's #2

    Aleekat..

I understand about the default folders. I don't wanna delete those. It's the ones I've created. IE: I made two folders for the same thing in error, and now I can't get rid of the one I don't want, etc.. Others are no longer needed, some were created as "drop-downs" from other folders by mistake. That sort of thing.

    Thanx

You can't highlight rightclick "delete ", "rename" or hit the redX on the toolbar?

What happen's when you do this.

Do these folders still have mail in them?

Perhaps you have to empty the folder first.
    ===============
Deletion problem can happen if the Deleted Items folder is damaged. Move all messages you might want to keep out of the Deleted Items folder and into another mail folder you create. Close OE, then delete the file "Deleted Items.dbx" in your Identity's store folder. OE will create a new one when you re-open OE

Here's a link that may be helpful. Lot's of ideas here:

Am I not understanding the problem correctly?

    Miracleman:

On your first question re Word 97:

Find the "normal.dot" template and open it. Then change the font size to 12 and save the template. That should make the default font size "stick ".

Word 2000 stores normal.dot in the following path:

    C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dot

Not sure where Word 97 does, but you can to a "Find Files" from the start button to locate it. You also will have to select "Document Templates (*.dot)" from the "Files of type" box in the open files dialog box.
