    Please HELP!

My uncle send me his computer and I had to Reformat and install winME on it, I put in a LAN card and did all the windows updates using my router, uninstalled the lan card, and then checked everthing out and it appeared to be working fine! I checked his AOL out for him, checked his CD writers out and everything worked with out a hitch! I check everything I thought except one thing his soundcard! (yamaha OPL3-sax ISA card). But I didn't find this out till after he got it back int he mail. He calls me up, and tells, then let's me listens to this popping our clicking sound coming from the external speakers. Yes I made sure he had them plugged into the right jack! and even had him use other speakers.... And still the same Problem. OK I find these drivers for the Yahama soundcard (95v2343.exe) they seem to unstall just fine, but after reboot WinME rejects them because they our not Digtally Signed, which I read ME has this type of protection built into it. Anyone have any thoughts?

P.S. It has a AMD600 CPU and 196MEGs of RAM and i did install the Via4and1 drivers, TNT2 Ultra 32 Meg GPU.

The driver file you indicated (95v2343.exe) is for Win98. The WDM driver for this card is located on the WinME CD.

OPL3-SAx Installation procedure for Windows Me / 2000 / XP

The driver for the YMF701, YMF711, YMF715, YMF718, and YMF719 single chip device, also called the OPL3-SAx is included in the Win98 / Win2000 / Win ME / Win XP installation CD.
Normally, the sound driver is automatically installed while installing the Win98 / Win2000 / Windows ME / Win XP Operating Systems.

However, if the driver failed to install, follow these steps.

Go to "Start" -> "Setting" -> "Control Panel ", and double click "Add New Hardware ".
When the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard starts, select "Add device ", "Add New Device" then "Search For New Hardware ".
Double click "Sound, Video and Game Controller" and select "YAMAHA" at the left.
Then select "YAMAHA OPL3-SAx WDM driver" at the right.

This card gave me no end of trouble. My computer was returned to me with a note that the computer shop couldn't get the sound working. By manually changing the IRQ's and resources, I got it working.

Some Acer computers use this card. You may be able to find drivers at their site.
